Vote for the Playtrail to win a National Lottery Award!
We are delighted to have reached the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards. The awards are an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery-funded projects, and they aim to celebrate and recognise the difference that those projects have made to people, places and communities across the UK.
The Playtrail 'Green Fingers Project' is the only project in Northern Ireland competing against nine other projects throughout the U.K in the Best Environment Project category for the chance to win an award and a £2,000 prize, and we need your votes to help us!
Simply visit
http://www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards/, click on the Best Environment Project category and cast your vote! Alternatively you can call 0844 686 0856 to register your phone vote. Every vote counts, so we really appreciate your support.
Voting starts on Monday 22nd June and will remain open for 3 weeks (10th July 2009). Once voting has closed the 3 projects with the highest votes will go through to the final round of the public voting, commencing on 3rd August.
The Playtrail Green Fingers Project includes:
- a Community Allotment Scheme (with Polytunnel)
- Raised Bed Garden
- Wildflower Meadow
- Environmental Pond
- Community Orchard
- Recycling & Compost Area
Based within the grounds of 2 Special Schools the area is used by a range of individuals, community organisations and schools, with children & young people at the heart of the development. The Project is being used as a model of best practice and would hope to be replicated throughout Northern Ireland.
